10 Wrestlers Whose Most Memorable Moment Was In Defeat
7. Ric Flair At WrestleMania XXIV
"I'm sorry...I love you". That's what Shawn Michaels mouthed to Ric Flair in an unforgettable moment at WrestleMania XXIV in Orlando. Seconds later, Michaels connected with some Sweet Chin Music, a move that ended Flair's career as an active in-ring WWE performer. Flair is one of the most successful wrestlers ever with sixteen recognized World Titles, which is considered the record for North American wrestling, so it could be argued that some of those wins are the most memorable moments of his career. However, none of them happened at a WrestleMania, like the loss to Michaels did. This match certainly had a special feel to it. Those a little more in-the-know may have known that this was The Nature Boy's swan song, but that didn't hurt the spectacle of the match one iota. They were able to build up the finish very well and make it the classic match we all hoped it would be. Flair did wrestle again in TNA after that loss, but this was his last match in WWE. It was arguably his most memorable moment in the company.
