10 Wrestlers Whose Stock Has Dropped The Most Since WWE WrestleMania 37
6. Apollo Crews
2021 finally felt like the year that WWE realised what they had on their hands with the freakishly athletic and always energetic Apollo Crews.
A shift in character from run-of-the-mill babyface to brassed off Nigerian royalty, though jarring at first, would eventually pave the way for a career-best run on Friday nights as Apollo set his sights on Intercontinental Champion Big E at the turn of the year.
His failures in seizing the title from The New Day man couldn't last forever and with WWE clearly grooming the IC Champion for bigger things later in the year, Apollo was able to prise the title away from Big E at 'Mania 37 - with a little help from Commander Azeez - in the thick of a Nigerian Drum Fight.
And a groundbreaking mid-card title run would ensue, setting the stage for Apollo to win the big one at this year's Show of Shows... Well, that's what should've likely happened, but instead the champ and his henchman lost grip on his belt after a disappointing 124-day reign was ended by Shinsuke Nakamura in August. Since then, Apollo has pretty much disappeared from weekly programming outside of the odd backstage segment and throwaway Raw match.
What a glorious waste of a once-vibrant new heelish force to be reckoned with.
