10 Wrestlers Without Direction For WWE SummerSlam 2017

3. The Hardy Boyz

Misfortune rather than misadventure seems to have left Matt and Jeff Hardy suddenly redundant as the Raw tag division shakes down ahead of SummerSlam.

With former Shield comrades Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins set to tackle Tag Team Champions Sheamus and Cesaro, The Hardy Boyz were positioned against The Revival in a coming together of two generations of tag team specialism.

Early interactions on television had been strong, despite the once unforgivable sin of giving the actual match away during the former NXT Tag Team Champions' first week back together following Dash Wilder's jaw injury. Any established tensions were shortly for naught anyway, when a Scott Dawson arm injury floored the 'Top Guys' yet again.

At a push, Matt and Jeff could enter into a Number One Contender's match with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, but as with so many pairings already exploited in the era of super-service, that combination feels staler than Matt's Sliced Bread.

If time-fillers are needed on August 20th, the four will probably be required on pre-game duties, but the slide for the North Carolinians from white hot WrestleMania returnees to SummerSlam kickoff merchants highlights a distinct lack of depth in the red brand's unraveling doubles division.
