10 Wrestlers WWE Are Currently Dropping The Ball With

4. Bray Wyatt

WWE have been underutilising Bray Wyatt’s talents for years, and if it weren’t for the increased opportunities in SmackDown’s thin main event scene that the Brand Split will surely bring him, he’d be much higher up this list.

Once one of WWE’s most dominant stables, The Wyatt Family’s lustre has great diminished since their 2013-14 heyday. It started with Bray’s lopsided loss to John Cena at Payback 2014, and has continued ever since. Their 2014-15 split benefitted nobody: Luke Harper and Erick Rowan struggled as singles wrestlers, but while Bray continued to feature prominently, he made little progress towards the main event.

A charismatic and genuinely creepy cult leader, Bray’s shtick is greatly diminished when not commanding a throng of followers. It now appears that WWE are going doing the same route by sending Braun Strowman to Raw, and while Wyatt and Rowan remain together on SmackDown, The Wyatt Family’s future has become unclear.

Wyatt’s time at the top is long overdue. He’s still the most unique character on WWE’s roster, but without consistently strong booking, he’s never going to hit peak potential. On paper, Wyatt is an ideal long-term Undertaker replacement thanks to the unsettling, eerie aura that he carries everywhere he goes, but he’ll never get there without memorable stories and a good push.
