10 Wrestlers WWE BURIED At WrestleMania

9. Umaga (vs Bobby Lashley), WrestleMania 23

Umaga was one of the most convincing monsters WWE had produced in years before it was all squandered in a matter of months by the company in 2007. The ‘Samoan Bulldozer’ had already endured a damaging couple of losses to John Cena in January at the New Year's Revolution and Royal Rumble events, but he at least felt like a credible threat to the WWE Champion.

The promotion clearly should have gone all the way with Umaga as after this he was immediately placed on a downward trajectory to becoming yet another mid-card monster WWE had peaked far too early. This was solidified when the former Jamal of Three-Minute Warning became embroiled in the ‘Battle of the Billionaires’ as Vince McMahon’s surrogate to face Bobby Lashley, representing future US President Donald Trump in a hair vs hair match.

Of course, the star of The Apprentice was never going to get rid of his luscious locks, which meant Umaga had do to the job for Lashley, suffering yet another high-profile loss at WrestleMania 23. The ridiculous nature of the match certainly didn’t help continue the monster aura either, as Vince McMahon felt like a more unhinged character by comparison.
