8. Shayna Baszler (vs Becky Lynch), WrestleMania 36
Shayna Baszler was one of the most dominant wrestlers in NXT history before moving to the main roster at the start of 2020, where she made it to the last two of the Royal Rumble match. The hot start continued going into WrestleMania 36, where Baszler became the #1 contender to Becky Lynch's Raw Women's Championship after eliminating five other competitors inside an Elimination Chamber.
'The Man' character that had brought Lynch to superstardom was starting to grow stale, which made a win for Baszler a great way to invigorate both characters with new directions coming out of the 'Show of Shows.' However, WWE made the decision to halt the 'Submission Magician's' momentum completely by having her lose to the champion.
WrestleMania 36 was a cursed event in general following the lockdown measures that were put in place at the start of the Covid pandemic, but even under the circumstances, Baszler losing seemed like a poor idea. She has never really been a serious prospect in the division since which is a shame as she has proven in NXT how effective she is as a champion.
