Bray Wyatt’s first run in the company was marred by many missed opportunities from WWE to go with the momentum the star gained on a number of occasions. One such time was after the 2016 brand split which saw the ‘Eater of Worlds’ accept Randy Orton into his family, which became one of the best stories of the early SmackDown Live era.

Wyatt was at first apprehensive about ‘The Viper’s’ intentions, whilst Luke Harper often showed his disdain towards the newest member of the group. After Randy Orton won the 2017 Royal Rumble, it looked like he may have been heading towards another clash with John Cena at WrestleMania 33 for the WWW Championship. However, the title was hot-shotted onto Wyatt at the Elimination Chamber beforehand.

Of course, Randy Orton revealed his deception which led to an Orton and Wyatt showdown at the ‘Show of Shows.’ It could have been the making of Bray after years of failed attempts to get him over, but WWE fumbled the delivery once again with an awful title match at WrestleMania 33. The match included a series of projections onto the ring canvas and it ended without much action at all, with the ‘Legend Killer’ picking up an easy win.

It was an awful night for Wyatt on the ‘Grandest Stage of Them All,’ but it wasn’t the first time this had happened to him.
