"Aaaaaaalbert! Aaaaaaalbert! Aaaaaaalbert!".

That chant haunted Matt Bloom during his short-lived run as a heel Lord Tensai in 2011. WWE fans trolled the guy, but they were also trolling the company too. Previously, Bloom had worked as Prince Albert (later shortened to Albert) between 1999-2002, and then as A-Train between 2002-2004.

It didn't seem to matter what he was called though. Bloom, who has gone on to carve a niche for himself as one of the most respected trainers in the industry, couldn't rise above the midcard for very long. Either he was missing an important piece of the puzzle, or WWE top brass was too prone to sticking him in comedy situations at the first sign of resistance from live crowds.

Regardless of who's to blame, the Tensai idea was never going to fly in 2011. Go and check out some of Bloom's work in Japan to see the best of him, because it sure didn't come in North America.
