10 Wrestlers WWE Fans Most Want To Win A World Title
4. Sami Zayn
The Sami Zayn tally was just implemented less than seven days ago on Simon Miller’s Ups and Downs and is already at 4, I should just stop there.
Sami Zayn deserves better than this. He’s consistently performed in the ring and on the mic, which makes it all the more mind boggling as to why WWE management never let him win. The last big win they gave Sami was when he won the NXT Championship from another underappreciated talent, Neville.
It was a feel good moment for Zayn and the NXT Universe but was short lived as he lost the belt just 62 days later to his best friend turned archenemy Kevin Owens. Zayn has had flashes of potentially breaking out from under the WWE glass ceiling while on the main roster, but is always halted by being quashed by a monster heel (damn you Braun Strowman).
WWE could’ve taken advantage of his popularity when they booked him in this year's Money in the Bank ladder match. Instead, he was beaten up backstage before the match started and didn’t even compete… Rubbish.
If the day ever comes when Zayn raises the big one you can bet there will be an eruption of applause. WWE could even do this by putting him in a similar underdog storyline to that of Kofi Kingston at this year’s Wrestlemania. But, given the way Sami is constantly booked I wouldn’t hold your breath on this happening. If it ever does just imagine the widespread feelings of pure joy.
