10 Wrestlers WWE Gave Up On In 2019

4. The IIconics

Other than needlessly cutting off what could have been an excellent Sasha Banks/Bayley reign at the knees and popping WhatCulture's Adam Wilbourn, what was the point in The IIconics' Women's Tag Team Championship reign?

This wet fart of a run began at WrestleMania 35. Billie Kay and Peyton Royce took the belts in a match that also featured Natalya/Beth Phoenix and Nix Jax/Tamina. What followed was 120 days of them barely even making television, let alone defending the belts, with their two successful defences combining for just five minutes of cumulative ring time before they eventually dropped the straps to Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross in August.

The titles' prestige rebounded in the aftermath and they now feel more important than ever with Kairi Sane and Asuka as champions. Still, The IIconics went on an immediate slide. Their sparse TV schedule was reduced to the extent that they now go missing for months on end. Where once they were effective undercard heaters, it seems WWE don't even have faith in them to pull this off any more. They're dead in the water.
