10 Wrestlers WWE Gave Up On In 2020

8. Chad Gable

At least Curtis didn't have to play...whatever 'Shorty G' was.

Decked out like the world's worst Recess-meets-Space Jam crossover, Chad Gable was booked to pretend that perpetual jokes about his height had forced him to bite back and "make peace" with his situation. What situation? Being shorter than Vinnie Mac might like is hardly the end of the world, and 'Shorty' was roughly the same size as most who ridiculed him anyway.

The character was pathetic from the start, and WWE's interest in some inspirational guff faded rather quickly. By October, Chad was grabbing the mic to give a very different message; he revealed that he was sick of the 'Shorty G' sh*t (he wasn't the only one) and would return to his Chad Gable moniker immediately.

Anyone hoping this might lead to some sort of career revival would be left disappointed. WWE's only plan for Chad thus far is to launch the mysterious 'Alpha Academy' and seemingly form an odd couple tag-team with fellow straggler Otis.
