10 Wrestlers WWE Gave Up On In 2020

7. Humberto Carrillo

High-flying newcomer Humberto Carrillo went from being compared to Justin Bieber by Jerry Lawler on Raw last year to picking up "momentum building" wins on C-level show Main Event. In other words, WWE's creative team have lost confidence in his ability to get over, and they don't have the patience to rethink things.

His most recent bout was a Main Event loss to Angel Garza on the December 3 broadcast. That's about as good as it gets for ol' Humberto these days - in fairness to WWE's writers, the guy was about as captivating as a blank sheet of paper whenever he was booked to appear in character skits.

Now, that should be tempered by saying that English isn't his first language. Why do WWE keep repeating this trick though? They hire workers who speak another language and expect them to soar in contrived promo segments. It never works unless they go the Asuka route and prove too outlandish to ignore.

Carrillo blatantly isn't this generation's 'Captain Charisma', and it seems the E can't be arsed with him anymore.
