10 Wrestlers WWE Have Given Up On In 2020

8. Akam

Last Win: 9 March (Raw)

A long-term injury suffered by Rezar in March sealed Akam's fate. Removed from Seth Rollins' gang of disciples, he'd seemingly be on the shelf for as long as his fellow Author of Pain.

We knew this was the plan the moment Rezar's injury was confirmed, as WWE has done this before. Rezar was previously shelved for five months when Akam suffered his own injury in January 2019. The promotion doesn't like keeping one around when the other is hurt.

This is totally needless, particularly as AoP are still so green, still have so many rough edges to work out, and still aren't close to finished products. They're the kind of guys who need to be working every week to get to the next level. Granted, that's tough in this house show-less era, but what's stopping from Akam sticking around as Rollins' heavy and squashing goobers for him, or even going down to NXT to spread the Messiah's message on Wednesday nights?

The answer is nothing. WWE's approach needlessly stifles the development of two promising powerhouses who desperately need it.
