10 Wrestlers WWE Have Given Up On In 2020

3. Kairi Sane

Last Win: 8 May (Main Event)

Concussions aside, gashed head aside, Nia Jax potatoes aside: Kairi Sane has had an objectively rotten 2020.

For the former NXT Women's Champion, this year has progressed as 2019 ended, when Charlotte Flair knocked her out at the TLC pay-per-view. Sane returned in a losing role soon after. She became a stepping stone for Becky Lynch in 'The Man's' feud with Asuka before settling into her new role as 'The Empress of Tomorrow's' pin-eating sidekick. Where once The Kabuki Warriors were presented as equals (as they should be), a clear line emerged between the two, even when they were Tag Team Champions, and it became more defined once Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss took the belts in April.

Sane has since been flattened by Jax on three separate occasions. Her sole singles win in 2020 came over the similarly-abandoned Ruby Riott on Main Event. Now, she's sitting on the sidelines after Nia's latest demonstration of clumsiness, with little hope of greater fortunes when she eventually returns.
