10 Wrestlers WWE Treated Terribly On The Way Out

CM Punk WWE Termination Wedding

CM Punk was tired, broken down and ready to call it quits when he walked into Vince McMahon's office shortly before the 27 January 2014 Raw to tell both he and Triple H that he was going home. Punk did, and wouldn't be seen on WWE programming again until surprisingly popping up on Backstage in late-2019.

McMahon told investors that Punk was on a sabbatical during conference calls in February '14. The truth is that he'd decided to check out of pro wrestling for a while, and was burned out on WWE's lifestyle. Punk had successfully left WWE behind, or so it seemed. Then, on his wedding day, they...

...sent Punk his termination papers and officially fired him.

That was a major kick in the teeth for the man. Imagine how cold and petty you'd have to be to deliberately spoil someone's big day like that. WWE would likely claim that the timing was coincidental, but come on - Punk could see right through that.
