10 Wrestlers WWE Will Regret Releasing

Woo, Woo, Woo, you know WWE will one day regret releasing these talented Superstars...

With WWE forced to make significant budget cuts as a result of current world events, a company which has spent the past couple of years doing everything it can to hold on to wrestlers last night fired dozens of them. As the list continued to grow, it was hard not to get upset, especially as many of these wrestlers aren't top stars with untold millions in their bank accounts to see them through this.

Releases like these were once an almost yearly "event," but the successful rise of All Elite Wrestling has meant WWE has locked in even lower tier talent with big money deals to stop them from jumping ship. As of right now, there's actually nowhere to jump to, and it's hard to imagine everyone who has been released still being in a position to still do what they love once the world returns to normal.

WWE obviously had some hard decisions to make, and these mass firings can't have been easy for them.

Looking down the list, it's hard not to come to the conclusion that they've made some major mistakes. Some wrestlers will easily find success elsewhere down the line, while others haven't been seen on TV in forever; a handful, though, could and should have been treated better and had the potential to be top stars. Somewhere down the line, WWE is seriously going to regret letting these Superstars go.

10. Erick Rowan

Erick Rowan received high praise from Brodie Lee (formerly known as Luke Harper in WWE) during his recent appearance on Talk Is Jericho, as he made it clear that the one-time Bludgeon Brother is a pretty eccentric dude who cares a lot more than we may have realised about what goes on in the ring.

After breaking away from both The Wyatt Family and Harper, Rowan showed us a completely different side of himself when he aligned himself with Daniel Bryan. Admittedly, him later carrying around an animatronic spider in a cage was, well, terrible, but he nailed the role of an out of control monster who squashed enhancement talent, and it felt like WWE was building him up for something special.

That came to an abrupt halt when he vanished off television on the Road to WrestleMania, but Rowan was a talent who could have easily been repackaged down the line. It would have been great seeing him continue to be built up as an absolute beast, and seeing as he has some killer mic skills, WWE may have had the full package here.

Now, we expect to see Rowan ultimately take those talents elsewhere and become a top star in the process; just like Brodie Lee, WWE will quickly realise they wasted this big man.
