10 Wrestlers WWE Wouldn't Let Quit
5. CM Punk
Despite once being WWE's longest reigning modern World Champion, CM Punk never felt like he was treated fairly in the company, nor did he actually feel like a top guy. Things came to a head in 2014, at a time when he was forced to wrestle with nagging injuries.
Punk would walk out of an episode of Raw and tried to ask for his release thereafter. Obviously, after all of the time and effort the company put into pushing The Straight Edge Superstar, WWE would not let him leave so easily. What followed was several meetings both in person and over the phone trying to get Punk back on television, but it was to no avail.
Eventually, while they wouldn't let the Chicagoan quit, WWE did serve him his release papers signaling that he was fired on his wedding day.
An oft forgotten part of the WWE alumnus' career is that he actually tried to quit a year earlier in 2013 as well, simply because he was not happy with his position in the company, according to PWInsider. While WWE officials would convince him to stay that year, they were not so lucky the following year.
