Everyone with the vaguest interest in the history of professional wrestling knows about the Montreal Screwjob. The infamous incident changed the entire landscape of the wrestling world overnight, but amidst the never-ending discussion in the years since, the reactions of Bret's colleagues is sometimes overlooked. One particularly interesting reaction that is worth noting is that from Mick Foley.

Foley has always presented himself - both in and out of character - as a man who wears his heart on his sleeve. On the night that "Bret screwed Bret," Foley may have been at his most emotional. Furious, appalled and disgusted by the incident, the then-Mankind quit the company out of protest. He even went as far as to no-show Monday Night Raw the next night.

Momentarily, WWE reminded Mrs. Foley's Baby Boy that there was a clause in his contract stating that if for any reason he breached his contract by refusing to wrestle in a WWE ring, then Foley would not be allowed to wrestle anywhere in the world for the next five years. Understandably, the future Hall of Famer swallowed his pride and reported back to work immediately.
