Alberto Del Rio has had a rocky road with WWE ever since he first joined the company in 2010. When he was offered his first WWE contract, he was still wrestling in Mexico under a mask as Dos Caras Jr. His new company promised that he would be paid incredibly well and he will be allowed to skip developmental.

As it turned out, he was forced to stay in FCW for awhile. He also had to lose his mask while there. Irritated at the broken promises, the aristocrat threatened to walk out of the company. Considering how highly they were paying the former masked luchador at the time, WWE weren't so keen on letting him walk away so easily.

Instead, they fast tracked ADR to the main roster into a feud with Rey Mysterio to keep him satisfied.
