Brace yourself, because former Raw GM, Head of Talent Relations, and motorised scooter enthusiast John Laurinaitis has not one, but TWO five star matches to his name.

To give Big Johnny some credit, he was actually a very talented and innovative wrestler back in the day. As Johnny Ace, he gave the world the "cutter", which was made famous as the Diamond Cutter and later the RKO. He also had a successful stint as a tag team wrestler in All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW), particularly when paired up with "Dr. Death" Steve Williams.

The two foreigners had their two five star matches in the mid-nineties, facing Mitsuharu Misawa and a partner on both occasions. Now is probably a good time to mention that AJPW is Dave's favourite promotion and Misawa is his favourite wrestler.

Although the location and opponents certainly helped, there's no denying Ace's talent in the ring was a huge part of why he was so acclaimed. His and Williams' match against Misawa and Jun Akiyama was awarded "Match of the Year" by the Observer, which is kinda funny considering Johnny would also win their "Worst Worked Match" award 16 years later.

So much for "People Power", I suppose.
