10 Wrestlers You Didn't Know Were Bodybuilders
3. Alexa Bliss
For Alexa Bliss, it was an opportunity to rid herself of harmful, life-threatening eating disorders that had plagued her as a cheerleader. In various interviews, some with WWE, Bliss revealed that bodybuilding helped her overcome body dysmorphia and realise she could be someone special.
She'd ride that momentum all the way to the Arnold Classic.
Alexa was chiselled, wiry and happier-looking as a bodybuilder. She's naturally small anyway, but hitting the weights and working on her body was mental escapism for her. Her's is a story not many women in WWE can claim to have; Bliss went through personal hell and came out the other side. She's a living success story.
Bodybuilding is (at least partly) to thank. It played a part in saving Bliss from disaster and helped her realise a dream of becoming a pro wrestler in 2013. Now, she's a former five-time WWE Women's Champion and she's still only 27 years old.
