10 Wrestlers You Won't Believe Beat John Cena
3. D-Von Dudley
John Cena and Batista have had very similar careers. They were both in developmental at the same time, both won their first World Championships on the same night, and have both successfully made the jump to Hollywood.
The first time the two met in a wrestling ring was a tag team match on SmackDown in 2002. Cena, who was on the winning side that night, teamed up with the master of the Stinkface, Rikishi. As for Batista, he also had a future WWE Hall of Famer in his corner - Reverend D-Von.
D-Von Dudley, who had turned to religion since being split up from Bubba, had introduced Batista to the world as his monstrous Deacon. The two men of the cloth would embark on a mini feud with Cena, and D-Von managed to avenge their tag team loss the next week on SmackDown.
The Reverend didn't even need Batista's help to win this match, instead beating Cena clean as a whistle with a lifting reverse DDT.
Considering how big both Cena and Batista would become just a few years after this match, it's strange to think that D-Von Dudley was involved at such a pivotal time in both men's careers.
