Now for a storyline mystery that was left unsolved for an infuriating amount of time: The Mystery of Who Threw the Pie at Kevin Owens.

Said incident went down back in 2016 on an episode of Raw, with KO getting smacked in the face by the dessert during an absolutely hilarious 4th of July food fight. However, the culprit was never shown on-screen, leaving fans to wonder (for years!) who on earth the thrower could be.

Well, six trips around the sun and a Breezango investigation later (see below), the person behind that pie-face was revealed to be that man again, Vince McMahon.

Or at least, that was the original plan.

Road Dogg would ultimately state in 2022 that the disgraced former boss was set to be the guy behind the messy throw on his 'Oh... You Didn't Know?' podcast (via Cultaholic). In the end, though, instead of doing a big reveal, they just opted to leave viewers in the dark.

Owens himself also explained a few years before this that he felt McMahon technically threw the pie due to him being the one who made the segment a thing in the first place, but the former DX member's comments fully confirmed that his former boss was going to be behind Kevin's embarrassing moment.
