9. Faarooq's Gladiatorial Attire
As the eventual leader of The Nation Of Domination, Faarooq was cast as a fearless warrior, something which actually goes hand-in-hand with his previous guise in the WWF. Ron Simmons had been heralded as the first African American World Champion in WCW history, and following an incredibly brief run of appearances in ECW, the man made his way to work for Vince McMahon in the Summer of 1996. Recast as Faarooq Asad and managed by Sunny, Simmons was handed one of the most silly-looking ring attires ever. If people thought Justin Credible going under the guise of Aldo Montoya and effectively wearing a jock strap on his face was bad, poor Ron Simmons didn't even have his features hidden, forced to wear a powder-blue helmet that made him look like a duff baddie from Power Rangers. On a more cheerful note, the gladiatorial nuances of the characters didn't last long, and just 6 months after his debut, Faarooq was the leader of the aforementioned group, The Nation Of Domination. Even so, this was one costume the future member of The APA must find it hard to live down.
