10 Wrestling Careers Damaged By The WWE Draft

4. Brian Kendrick

Initially, the 2009 draft was great for Brian Kendrick. He was shipped off to SmackDown, and forced to split ways with his tag partner Paul London. He turned heel, was gifted Ezekiel Jackson as a bodyguard, and soon became “The” Brian Kendrick. He was doing some great work in the ring and on the mic. He looked poised to become a star in the company for years to come. Life was good for him.

Kendrick's star started to fade a little bit by the end of his run on SmackDown, but a move back to Raw without Ezekiel proved to be fatal for his WWE carer.

He lost his push, rarely got to talk on the microphone and was basically directionless. It seems that the Raw writing crew didn’t see the same potential in him. Just three months after switching brands he was let go from the company altogether.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
