Yes, Daniel Bryan's long-term health is currently an issue. A BIG one. It's highly likely that, due to his huge popularity with the fans and, well, just being great at his job, Bryan was in for a lengthy stay with the IC belt. But last night, he announced that as a result of an MRI, he has not been medically cleared to wrestle, and has voluntarily vacated the title. It's hard to gauge whether Bryan will be awarded another major title after this, as the WWE regard injury-prone athletes as walking time-bombs, which is harsh but fair. Injuries tend to accumulate, especially with WWE's punishing schedule. What's cruelly poetic about all of this, is that it was almost exactly a year ago when Bryan was forced by the Authority to vacate the WWE World Heavyweight Title for the same ailment. Eight months before that, they stripped the WWE Title from him for storyline reasons, after he beat Randy Orton in controversial fashion. HHH decried the ref's count a fast one, and the title was vacated. Vacating three titles in a year and half is a crushing blow for everyone's favourite underdog.
