10 Wrestling Champions Who've Vacated The Most Titles

9. Tiger Mask - 3

Tiger Mask Tiger Mask knows all about the problems facing D-Bry right now. The Japanese wrestler, whose gimmick was based on an anime character of the same name, and whose real identity was Satoru Sayama, vacated the same title 3 times in the space of just under a year and a half. Tiger Mask was wrestling in the WWE from 1982-3, appearing in a frankly adorable mask with white fluffy mutton chops. He resembled a cuddly Wolverine. During his tenure, he frequently held the WWF Junior Heavyweight Title, which he first had to vacate owing to a knee injury in April 82. He returned to action in May of the same year, defeating Black Tiger (lots of tiger-based wrestler back then) to regain the title. He would vacate it again in April '83 after being injured in his long-term rivalry with the Dynamite Kid. He regained it again in June. Finally, dissatisfied by the behind-the-scenes politicking in pro wrestling, Tiger Mask vacated the title for a third and final time in August '83, announcing his (what would be short-lived) retirement from wrestling.
