10 Wrestling Championship Reigns That Didn't Fit The Wrestler

8. Luke Harper As WWE Intercontinental Champion

The former Luke Harper started life in WWE as a member of The Wyatt Family, a bizarre yet enthralling cult-like stable alongside Erick Rowan and figurehead Bray Wyatt. The gig lasted two years before Harper and Rowan broke away from Wyatt to pursue solo careers.

As part of Harper's solo run, he would align himself with The Authority and in doing so, he was awarded an Intercontinental Championship opportunity against then-champion Dolph Ziggler, the man Harper had laid out in order to show allegiance to The Authority. On the 17 November 2014 episode of RAW, Harper would defeat The Showoff for his first main roster championship.

Now, while Luke Harper the athlete certainly deserves what's traditionally seen as the 'workhorse' championship (just watch his performances with Dominik Dijakovic at Worlds Collide, Ziggler at TLC 2014 where he almost broke his arm, or the time he saved Mustafa Ali from catastrophe at WrestleMania 35), Luke Harper the character wasn't built as someone who needed or perhaps represented such an accolade.

The shaggy-headed brute never strayed too far away from his Wyatt Family persona and was seemingly always used as an instrument of violence, as opposed to a technical athlete.
