10 Wrestling Characters That Had The Plug Pulled On Them Immediately

4. Friar Ferguson

Friar Ferguson seems to have not paid any attention in seminary school, as all that talk of turning the other cheek didn’t really seem to register with him. He was instead more of a “do unto others” type of guy, as he had no problem beating people up, and then sitting on their face to finish them off.

While you can imagine a wrestling Friar having main event potential, he was taken off of TV because he was too controversial, and not because it was too stupid. The Catholic Church of New York wasn't happy with this act, so the WWF bowed to pressure and sent the Friar packing. Thank God!

The man who played the role, Mike Shaw, was then repackaged as Bastion Booker, and lasted less than a year in that gimmick...which actually should have been cancelled even faster than The Friar was.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
