10 Wrestling Details That Aren’t As Important As You Think
6. The Rock And Ronda Rousey
Much like Ken Shamrock, Ronda Rousey was a major star in UFC before making the jump to pro wrestling, and her transition also began at WrestleMania. Hers wasn't with Steve Austin in the ring, but rather his greatest rival.
At WrestleMania 31, The Rock came out to confront Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. He spotted Rousey in the crowd and called her into the ring as back-up. Steph then got in Ronda's face, only to get an arm bar for her troubles.
Oh, and she threw Triple H across the ring too, which was really funny.
WWE were clearly keen on having Rock and Ronda work together again, but this never came off. The two stars' busy schedules never quite matched up, so a new partner had to be found for Rousey's debut tag team match against Triple H and Stephanie at WrestleMania 34.
As a result, the fact that Dwayne technically introduced her to pro wrestling has become irrelevant.
Kurt Angle was eventually picked for the role and the match was an absolute hoot. Would it have been better with The Rock? It's unclear, but it would have fit the continuity a lot better, that's for sure.
