10 Wrestling Facts That Sound Weird (But Are Somehow True)

7. Dustin Rhodes And Rey Mysterio Have Wrestled In 5 Different Decades

Before calling time on his career earlier this year, Sting was a member of a truly special and rather unbelievable club.

With Steve Borden making his debut back in 1985, that meant this 'Stinger' had been doing his thing across five decades by the time he retired. And in the wake of Revolution 2024, there are now only two active performers across WWE and AEW who can say the same.

One has been sporadically appearing on AEW television over the last few years, though Dustin Rhodes still feels he has something to offer, claiming in a chat with Sports Illustrated that he'll go until the wheels fall off as recently as April of this year. The son of Dusty and brother of Cody first locked up back in 1988.

And joining the one-time Goldust as another living legend who has appeared in five separate decades as a pro wrestler, Rey Mysterio - who made his debut in 1989 at just 14-years-old (!) - is still, incredibly, going strong on WWE TV to this day, and is somehow continuing to steal the show as he closes in on the big 5-0.

Technically, Raven is a member of this list, too, though he's only competed three times in the 2020s.

None of those aforementioned icons have topped the late great Terry Funk's achievement of appearing in six separate decades, though. But would you really bet against either Rhodes or Mysterio in particular going another six years?
