On the 11 June 2007 episode of Raw, Mick Foley appeared for a quick promo to tease that he'd be on the upcoming Vengeance: Night Of Champions pay-per-view a few weeks later. This was a challenging time for Mick, something he admitted in an interview with ABC 15 Arizona this week.

When Vince McMahon made the call to have Foley appear, at short notice, in a five-man WWE Title match at Vengeance, the veteran was in a lot of pain. He carried that pain with him to Raw, hid it from the audience as best he could and wondered internally why he was putting himself through this.

The answer was simple: Foley had a book to promote.

The Hardcore Diaries (Mick's third autobiography) had been released the prior March. Looking to spike sales, Foley agreed to the brief return and literally dragged himself out of bed to be involved. Travelling was agony for Mick, and he only agreed to perform in exchange for Vince footing his hotel bill.
