Common pro wrestling locker room conduct dictates that the roster shake hands upon arriving at the building and thank one another for matches once they're finished. That's something Steve Austin had done his entire career, so imagine his surprise when he didn't see Shawn Michaels after the WrestleMania XIV main event.

Austin said on his podcast this week that Shawn was nowhere to be found after he stopped celebrating his win in front of the fans and returned backstage.

Although Steve knew HBK wasn't thrilled about dropping the WWF Title, he said the pair didn't have any personal problems and that Shawn was nothing but professional when planning the match. Austin doesn't recall speaking to Michaels afterwards at all, and he definitely didn't get the chance to thank him.

Does this mean that Shawn left the building before Austin returned backstage? Probably. It makes sense that Steve would make a point of seeking him out to show his appreciation for the job.
