10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (July 6)

Mötley Crüe? More like Mötley Ew...

Daniel Bryan The Miz

The recent return of Kane and the Team Hell No reunion on SmackDown is a thinly-veiled excuse for WWE to stall on Daniel Bryan vs. The Miz. That's the Bryan feud everyone wants to see, not only because it'd tie up loose ends from his stint as GM but also because Miz is the perfect antagonist for Daniel.

Bryan, according to comments made this week, doesn't have full faith that WWE will get the timing right.

A match between both may happen as soon as SummerSlam, or WWE could hold off until next year's WrestleMania. Either way, they have a killer feud in their back pocket, and yet Bryan is worried they'll botch pulling the trigger.

Other facts included here concern which big WWE star had a hand in naming current GLOW starlet Awesome Kong, what management told Gangrel when laying out The Brood concept to him, which famous rock band Steve Austin wanted to throw deodorant at and some hitherto unknown knowledge on WCW's legal tactics.

Also, Vince McMahon really likes pushing unsuspecting people into water. Sometimes, the prank goes wrong and he nearly ends up hospitalised the day of 'Mania.

10. Shinsuke Nakamura Was Relieved To Turn Heel

Shinsuke Nakamura must have known that he was bombing as a babyface. It's not all his fault; after a super-lame feud with Jinder Mahal that focused on making fun of his facial expressions, anyone would have been drowning. Even though he'd won the Royal Rumble in January, The Artist still needed something new.

He got it at WrestleMania 34.

During an interview with the Asbury Park Press, Shinsuke said he felt a sense of relief wash over him as soon as he cracked AJ Styles in the nuts with a stiff forearm and turned to the dark side. Finally, for the first time in his WWE run, Nakamura was able to let himself loose and enjoy working again. Gone were the forced babyface smiles and the tame characterisation. Suddenly, Nakamura could smile psychotically like he had in NJPW and act like a deranged rockstar rather than a fan-friendly one.

It was about bloody time, and he agrees.
