Backstage in the Toronto SkyDome at WrestleMania VI, the legendary André The Giant knew his career was coming to an end. Knowing he was hardly able to move around the ring or bump, André asked for a quiet word with his tag-team partner Haku and gave him a short but inspirational speech.

It's clear just from reading Haku's comments to Sports Illustrated's Extra Mustard this week that his friend's words left a lasting impression.

The original plans for that Colossal Connection vs. Demolition match called for both teams to go back-and-forth. André, knowing he could barely work, had a different idea. His plan was to put Haku over as the best member of their team, and that's why he told him to "look strong" so people would see he could work without the giant.

Haku never forgot André's selflessness. This was to be the big man's last 'Mania in-ring appearance (something he likely knew) and yet André's only concern was that Haku and Demolition came out of the match with momentum. There's something heartwarming about that.
