8. Booker T & Jerry Lawler Weren't Told About SmackDown 1000

Booker T was pissed at SmackDown 1000.

No, the five-time, five-time, five-time, five-time, five-time World Champion hadn't been camped out in catering all day with a bottle of Grey Goose, he was annoyed at WWE higher-ups for failing to clue him in on his role for the show. When they sprung his commentary gig with Jerry Lawler upon Booker, both he and the 'King' were irked.

Nobody had thought to inform them that they'd be working together in such a capacity live on air. Lawler and Booker had instead been under the impression that they'd be used for some sort of token backstage promo, but WWE wanted them to announce together. As that was something they'd never done together, both were rattled.

Making matters worse, Lawler's headset didn't work, so Booker had to coax him into talking. The whole thing turned into a stressful situation when it should've been a simple gig for two experienced performers. Booker said on his Heated Conversations podcast that he wanted a little more of a heads up.
