As mentioned during the intro to this piece, Lilian Garcia has now stepped away from the WWE spotlight. It took years for the ring announcer to earn respect in the company, something that becomes clear during her interview this week with The Tomorrow Show. It turns out that Lilian had to hurdle more than one misconception.

Joining the then-WWF in the summer of 1999, Garcia was instantly looked upon with scathing eyes by Chyna. One of the most dominant females in the entire company, Chyna believed Lilian was just another pretty face hired by management, one who had next to no respect for professional wrestling.

That wasn't actually the case, but Chyna was nonetheless rude to Lilian. On one occasion, the ring announcer was standing in her way, and Chyna told her to get out of dodge. Later, an apology would come to Garcia, and that's when Chyna explained why he had been so short with her.

Once it became clear to Chyna that Lilian had great respect for pro wrestling, the pair developed their relationship as friends.
