Then, on the same podcast, Rico pulled a cracking story out of the bag.

According to him, it was fairly common knowledge backstage that Billy Gunn's 'Mr. Ass' gimmick ended because of The Undertaker's decision to become a tobacco-spitting, all-American, rough and tough biker. If you're confused, you should be, because it's hardly obvious what a butt-obsessed mid-carder and 'Taker have in common.

It turns out that Vince McMahon decided to pivot with Gunn's 'Ass' character once creative came up with 'Taker's 'American Bad Ass' moniker. To the boss, it wouldn't do to have two men with the word 'Ass' in their names on the roster. Sounds wacky, doesn't it? It's not totally out of left field though.

In one of Chris Jericho's books, he told a funny story about McMahon's worry over both Y2J and Chris Benoit sharing the same forename. Apparently, that same thinking extended to fears that Billy Gunn's toilet humour act would harm The Undertaker's rebirth.
