If stories about the late, great Randy Savage have taught us anything, it's that you didn't touch his hair and you didn't call him old. That was a mistake legendary wrestling photographer and magazine editor Bill Apter made in the mid-90s when Savage relaunched his in-ring career with WCW, and he only did it to try and put Randy over.

At the time, Savage was scheduled to win the World Title, and Apter believed it'd be fun to fabricate a story about some fan questioning Randy's ability to wrestle at a top level. Shockingly, 'Macho Man' agreed, and he gave the editor his blessing. Then, when the story launched, he flipped.

Randy hurled an $85 plaque Apter presented him with at a wall then later spat at the ringside snapper during a house show match with Ric Flair.

Bill told this story on Sean Mooney's Prime Time podcast, and said Hulk Hogan helped smooth things over. A few years after the spit, Hulk invited Apter over to his house for another mag story, stopped off at a gym and introduced him to an apologetic Savage.
