She was just 19 years old and living thousands of miles away from home, so it's no wonder a young Paige struggled to adapt to her new WWE schedule. On Sky Sports, she admitted to spending hours on the phone to her parents back in the UK. As the future SmackDown GM sobbed about how much she missed them, her dad encouraged his girl to stay strong.

She's glad he did now.

Back then, it was a different story. Paige desperately wanted to get back to the culture she had grown up in, and she couldn't get to grips with living in an apartment herself, dealing with the pressures of WWE life or living in the United States generally.

Through all of the toil, her family tried the tough love approach. Ricky Knight, the aforementioned father, said she should stop calling him if she was only going to have panic attacks after hanging up the phone. That somehow gave Paige enough strength to acclimatise to her new surroundings and start thriving.
