10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (13 March)

3. Ric Flair Wants To Face Triple H At WrestleMania

Conducting a routine fan Q&A via his Twitter account, the 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair was asked by one fan whether or not he'd be interested in one day facing Triple H at WrestleMania. Jumping all over the question, Flair replied that he'd be heavily interested, and encouraged fans to tweet Vince McMahon and propose the match. Since "retiring" in 2008, Ric Flair has competed several times, firstly against Hulk Hogan on the 'Hulkamania' Tour in 2009, then subsequently for TNA against the likes of Hogan and Mick Foley. Those appearances, which followed on from the special retirement bash WWE laid on for the man, reportedly irked Vince McMahon, and it seems unlikely WWE would be willing to put Flair inside the ring as an active competitor again. Even though he's 66 years old, Flair obviously feels he can still go, and would clearly love to capitalise on his recent on-screen interaction with Triple H. There's a case to be made that Ric Flair is a guy who will never properly retire, always looking for that one last match. In a way, it's a shame, because his bout with Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XXIV was quite the spectacle, and would have been a fitting note on which to end a legendary career.
