9. Natural Born Thrillers Were Promoted Despite Lack Of Promo Ability

The Natural Born Thrillers first showed up in WCW at the turn of the new millennium. Overall, the roster had started to become woefully stale, so management felt a shake up was needed. This came in the form of 7 graduates from the promotion's Power Plant training facility. Chuck Palumbo, Johnny The Bull, Mark Jindrak, Mike Sanders, Sean O'Haire, Reno and Shawn Stasiak were the ones called up to the main roster. They were all deemed as promising young wrestlers, who had shown excellent fitness levels and in-ring ability during training. Unfortunately, they were hampered by poor vocal skills, something WCW had neglected to hone in development. This is something WCW announcers were told to cover for. Management were aware that the septet didn't possess great promo ability, so commentators like Tony Schiavone and Scott Hudson were told to talk up their potential and athleticism instead. Hudson told the In Your Head Wrestling Show that before the Natural Born Thrillers even debuted, Mike Sanders was decreed the one who would do the talking. This was because he wasn't as bad at promos as his peers.
