10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week

6. Al Snow Teaches Aspiring Wrestling Based On His Own Failures

Working primarily in TNA these days, Al Snow has been a respected in-ring trainer for years. Back during his WWF/WWE tenure, Snow was the one trusted to work with incoming talent as massive as 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin. Preparing the likes of Austin for what the company had to offer, Snow has long been recognised for his own tough upbringing in the industry. Trained by Gene and Ole Anderson, Al was introduced to the more brutal aspects of pro wrestling. It wasn't uncommon for the man to leave sessions with severe bruising or even broken bones, which is unthinkable in today's world of the WWE Performance Center. Interestingly, Snow claims that he doesn't teach aspiring wrestlers based on his successes, he does so on his own failings. Al Snow was never a big-money player in WWE, so it makes some degree of sense that he'd approach things this way. During an interview with Jim Ross, Snow revealed that he has regrets over his in-ring tenure. Instead of working to become a star, he would always strive to simply have a good match he could be proud of.
