5. Daniel Bryan Wanted To Main Event As Intercontinental Champion
When Daniel Bryan became WWE Intercontinental Champion at WrestleMania, there was much rejoicing. The Intercontinental belt has long been a source of much irritation for wrestling fans. Treated like much less of a commodity than it was during the 1980's and early-90's, the IC Title has become little more than a diversionary prop in the promotion. Bryan's talent and standing on the roster promised to change that. In similar fashion to John Cena's run as United States Champion, Daniel's tenure as Intercontinental titleholder should have been memorable. Unfortunately, it was memorable more for the fact that the popular star was forced to vacate the gold due to serious injuries. It appears Daniel Bryan had grand plans before his health stepped in to stop him. A favourite title of his growing up, the man wanted to make the Intercontinental Title a centrepiece of the company again. Bryan's big plan was to main event major Pay-Per-Views, including WrestleMania, as Intercontinental Champion. This seems implausible, but sadly fans will never know if Bryan could have made it happen.
