Here's another fact that comes hot off the press from interviews with Chris Van Vliet.

When chatting to Rob Van Dam, Van Vliet found out who recommended Shane McMahon's spectacular 'Coast To Coast' finisher. It was Paul Heyman, and he did it because he recalled seeing RVD do something eerily similar in the original ECW; there, Van Dam called his corner-to-corner dropkick the 'Van Terminator'.

RVD isn't angry at Heyman for poaching one of his trademark moves and handing it to someone else. Nah, he's flattered by the nod, and thinks older fans still regard it as his rather than McMahon's. The same can't be said for younger viewers. They'll have zero knowledge of Van Dam's stunts unless they fire up old ECW show on the Network.

Heyman didn't ask Van Dam for permission, but Rob wasn't expecting that anyway. All he wanted to hear from Paul was admission that he'd been influenced by his old employee when seeking something 'new' for Shane's daredevil character.
