Bret Hart can be a polarising figure for many wrestling enthusiasts, because he's rarely that complimentary about today's product.

The legendary Canadian still regularly tunes into WWE programming, giving his thoughts via his own show on WrestleZone Radio. Sometimes it's positive, but it certainly wasn't when Hart discussed the opening match of WrestleMania 32.

Bret takes credit for inventing the idea of the Ladder Match back in his father's territory promotion, Stampede Wrestling. He also claims to be the one who brought the concept to the WWF, although he rarely competed under the stipulation during his time in the company.

According to Hart, the WWE Intercontinental Title Ladder Match was merely a showcase of stunts without any real story. In fairness to those working the bout, that was the entire purpose for the match and the reason it went on first. They were there to warm up the crowd and open the show in stirring fashion.

For Hart, the match lacked any real logic or drama. Most notably, he pointed to Zack Ryder's sprint up the ladder for the win, whereas others had previously moved much more slowly.
