Unless you lived through it, it's often hard to describe just how huge the nWo idea was to WCW from 1996 onwards. The heel group changed the promotion's fortunes and turned them from a distant #2 into a company realistically challenging Vince McMahon's WWF for the top spot in North America.

On the WWE Network's Table For 3 show, Diamond Dallas Page, Sean Waltman and Scott Hall sat down to talk about their careers. When the nWo subject was broached, Page blurted out that he thought WCW should have changed branding completely to favour the New World Order when they had the chance.

It wasn't for a lack of trying from Eric Bischoff; promoting an nWo only pay-per-view (Souled Out 1997), he also tried to turn Monday Nitro into an exclusive show for the faction. Page was all for this, because he believed it was the hottest thing in wrestling and way more viable than the WCW name.
