MVP's first feud on the WWE main roster was against Kane. He must have impressed, because management soon also put him in the ring regularly against The Undertaker. The rivalry even raged on away from TV with a series of 20+ minute matches on house shows.

Speaking on his VIP Lounge podcast, MVP revealed some sage advice 'Taker gave him when the rivalry was over. Approaching MVP backstage, Undertaker said he had it on "good authority" that MVP's next feud would be with Chris Benoit. Straight away, the legend told MVP that he'd have to be in the shape of his life to go 25 minutes with Benoit every night, and warned that this was WWE's way of testing him.

The personal tragedy in Benoit's life would stop MVP from seeing the feud through, but he did find it fascinating that Undertaker would specifically point out how much of a challenge working the Canadian would be.
