The feud between Alexa Bliss and Nia Jax became a tad controversial when WWE booked Bliss to poke fun at Nia's weight pre-WrestleMania. Body-shaming is a major issue in today's world, and it was close to the knuckle for WWE to portray Alexa as someone happy to make fat jokes or ridicule someone for their body type.

The whole thing was something Bliss struggled to come to terms with, largely because she had been through anorexia in her teens and didn't want to hurt her friend's feelings.

On the Miami-based radio show AM 790 The Ticket, Alexa told how she often teared up after bullying Jax for her weight in promos. The pair even referenced their real-life friendship in the angle by having Bliss say Nia was "like Shrek going through the airport".

That's something both found hard because of their genuine closeness. Bliss and Jax talked behind the scenes about how they'd have to swallow their pride in order to make the storyline as realistic as possible, and neither found it easy.
