Big Show has already stated during one of those Monday Night War episodes on the WWE Network that he wasn't happy with what he was making in WCW towards the end. On his own 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff followed up on that by claiming he stepped in when Show approached him about a proposed deal with the WWF.

To Bisch, it was a no-brainer, and he even joked about giving Show a ride to the airport.

There was method to Bischoff's gung-ho approach here. He didn't think Show was particularly motivated as a performer, and he was stalling in WCW. Bischoff also didn't feel anyone could afford to turn down a reported 10-year contract worth a guaranteed $1m per year.

So, he told his wrestler that he should take the money, sign with the WWF and try his chances there instead of growing stale where he was. There was no ill-feeling, because Bischoff didn't attempt to stand in Show's way, and he appreciated him being upfront about the deal.
